Happy New Year

Dear Folks,

Happy New year to all my beloved readers of this blog. When I was keying in what to write this New Year, initially had the scarcity of thoughts & ideas. But suddenly a question came-up in my mind to ‘why do we wish’ at all in this New Year. There were occasions, I missed wishing somebody on their birthdays / or on festival days. But invariably we don’t miss to wish on New Year…why? Now, I know…same rat is moving around in your mind too?

On 1st January, 2011; I was lost….and seriously thinking why…, in the evening, me and mother was watching series of programmes on TV. As all of you aware, we watch less of programme and more of ads. When I tried to distinguish between both from the point of content, both are more or less same. For example…Cadbury's Subharaambh ad (A boy starting his day by dropping a girl to her home, of course eating  Cadbury ) ; or hero driving 100 hours km/ per minute to catch heroin by trashing somebody  in a movie). Seems to pretty same. I told my mother that all ads and movies, serials etc from the ages concentrate on only one aspect and have been severely circumscribed by the concept of Love. Surprisingly, she agreed and reiterated stating that ‘love’ is not a recent phenomenon, but a very very very very old one.

Let’s swap to mythology for a moment, in Bhagavata Puranam, even “Madam Rukmini’ sent a letter through a bearer to Lord Krishna about her love. http://www.stutimandal.com/gif_bhgvt/rukmini_sandesh.htm (http://www.indianetzone.com/33/rukmini_wife_lord_krishna.htm) receiving that letter, Krishna went to Vidarbha to marry her after couple of deliberations (how to convince, how to fight when someone opposes etc). Apparently Krishna won the hearts of people and married to madam Rukmini on December 31....

wish it was 3G telecom era, had Rukmini sent one SMS to Krishna , all problems wouldn’t have come… (I did…and got nice bashing call from my Rukmini :)

Back to our ad, I realized that it’s all about Love and making happy through that love, we call people to wish Happy New Year. It is a symbol of marring happiness; marring new relationships and marrying your loved ones, marrying lost memories etc. Since we can not wish everybody…very year…happy marry year, we wish happy New Year...this the Rationale behind Subharambh….

I wish this year….all of you marry to Mr & Ms. Fun, Mr. & Ms. Good Health and Wealth….make a blasting year of brightness with your goodness

Thank you

Yours Ravi Kiran
